I was unexpectedly watching a movie called “Children of the Corn” (novel by Stephen King) which unfortunately has a very low score on Rotten Tomatoes as well as Google Review. Well, in the movie a couple having journey through a town called Gatlin (Nebraska), which I can’t find it in google. But then I found Gatlinburg, also a small town yet in Tennessee. (P.s. Ripley’s Museum caught my eyes at once).
Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park
One of the biggest amusement park in Gatlinburg has a sky tram, forest roller coaster, and actually skylift park. I’m not really interested on skylift park though, cause I’m acrophobia!
Ripley’s Believe it or Not! Museum
Amazingly I found this! I found Ripley’s Museum since it’s pretty famous tv show in early 2000’s here. Some say it’s totally free to get into the museum. Well, I must be amazed by Odditorium and 5D Moving Theathre.
Kilwin’s – Chocolate, Fudge, and Ice Cream
I’m a big fan of chocolate, since chocolate is very expensive here so I rarely buy chocolate. Whatsoever, I’ll definitely love this place! Kilwin’s actually originated from Michigan in 1947 and successfully it’s franchised in some cities in USA. It’s a bit pricey for me, you can check it here, but I must love this shop!
First thing first I would like to tell you is the sandwich looks really good. Some said it’s a rumor that this delicatessen is owned by Dolly Parton’s relatives (?). Okay, then I would try the Steamed Sandwiches and Deviled Eggs. (Eh, eventually not only Indonesian food menu that having “devil” on the menu (e.g. Rawon Setan or Deviled Rawon)).
It’s not a greenbrier ghost anyway, just a cute restaurant nestled in the mountainside of what American called Smoky Mountain. It might be cute for the place, but not for the price. Greenbrier have Pork Rib Eye for only 300K Rupiahs, do the math. However I would stay in a fancy restaurant, with wine, steak, homemade buttermilk pie, and enjoy the view!
Fireflies and Moonshine Cabin
There are plenty of cabins for your groups to stay, but I choose this one since it’s located on the mountainside. It’s really describe a mountain American house style with woods and tiny roof above the roofs. Lol.
That’s all for today’s walk in Gatlinburg. Hope to see Gatlinburg very soon and by the way these pics are taken from googlemaps. Thanks for google contributors.
